EXCL: Betsey Johnson Pulls $7M Hidden Hills Ranch From Market

Betsey Johnson has taken her newly rebuilt Hidden Hills, CA, home off the market.

The iconic fashion designer, 84, snapped up the 4,300-square-foot abode on April 11, 2025, paying $6.85 million.

Just over a year later, on July 27, 2026, Johnson listed the home for $7.5 million. By Sept. 15, the price had been slashed by half a million dollars, asking $6.99 million. A month later, on Oct. 17, the listing was removed.

Located just a stone’s throw from Kim Kardashian’s home in the desirable guard-gated enclave, Johnson’s modern ranch sits upon a 1.5-acre lot.

The property’s design is a stark contrast from the eclectic, maximalist aesthetic the cartwheeling designer has become known for, boasting a sleek open concept with a neutral color palette and exposed wood ceiling beams.

The home was originally built in the 1950s, but Sandefer Homes transformed the property not long before Johnson purchased it, according to Robb Report.

With an entire wing dedicated to the primary suite, which features a fireplace, patio with direct access to the pool, and a lavish bathroom, the abode is certainly a relaxing retreat.

There’s also ample outdoor space to enjoy the gorgeous surrounding landscape, which is perfectly manicured with lush greenery.

While Johnson’s future plans for the property remain unclear, her real estate portfolio has an impressive track record.

In 2019, the designer—who had previously spent 55 years living in New York City—sold her one-of-a-kind pink mobile home for $1.95 million.

The Malibu dwelling was located in Paradise Cove Mobile Home Park, which is considered to be one of the most famous and luxurious trailer parks in the country.

The picturesque community of 270 homes has attracted many notable residents, including Sarah Paulson, Stevie Nicks, and Pamela Anderson.

Before offloading the mobile home, Johnson spent over $500,000 turning it into a playful wonderland decorated with countless bohemian prints, florals, and electric colors. There was even a fully functional outdoor tub.

“I would like people to think of this as a funny little museum,” she told People magazine in 2018, referring to the expansive collection of antiques and vintage finds she had displayed in the home.

The mobile home had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and plenty of room for her daughter, Lulu Johnson, 41, and two grandchildren, Layla and Ella, who reportedly also lived in Malibu, visiting frequently.

“I’ve made lots of mistakes with boyfriends and husbands,” said Johnson, who has been married three times. “I don’t think I’ve made more than two mistakes with my houses, purchases for my houses, or the clothes in my closet.”

It wasn’t long before Johnson would find herself in yet another pink mobile home in Malibu, moving into a 2,300-square-foot home in the gated Point Dume Club.

“I love the idea that, with a trailer park, you’re in a kind of community,” she told the New York Times Style Magazine in 2021. “At my age, if I fall down in the middle of the street, I want someone to go, ‘Hey! What’s that girl doing in the middle of the street?’”

Soon after moving in, Johnson papered the walls with vintage wallpaper that perfectly matched the floral print from her childhood home.

Pink homes are somewhat of a tradition for Johnson, who famously lived in a bubblegum pink loft in Manhattan in the 1980s—the photos of which still regularly circulate on blogs and social media accounts dedicated to whimsical design.

And although the exterior is not pink, Johnson does also have a four-bedroom, six-bathroom vacation home in Guerrero, Mexico, where her half-punk, half-ballerina touch can be found in every room.

According to Elle Decor, the property—aptly named “Betseyvilla”—was previously offered as a rental through Airbnb, although the listing appears to no longer be available.
