Boku Appoints Sandra Alzetta as Independent Non-Executive Director | LeapRate

Boku (AIM: BOKU), a global network of Local Payment Methods, announced on Monday that Sandra Alzetta has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company, effective immediately.

The appointment follows an externally facilitated search process.

Alzetta brings extensive experience in payments and digital platforms. She most recently served as Vice President, Global Head of Payments and Customer Service at Spotify, a role she held for seven years.

During her tenure, she led the development and scaling of the company’s global payments infrastructure amid a period of rapid international growth, before later expanding her remit to global customer service, where she focused on improving customer experience through automation and AI driven initiatives.

Before joining Spotify, Alzetta held interim and advisory positions within financial technology businesses, including a leadership role in product and marketing at a fintech specialising in digital custody and settlement services. She also spent more than 25 years at Visa Europe in senior positions spanning digital solutions, core products, mobile payments, innovation and market development.

Alzetta currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Fabrick, an open finance platform within the Sella Group, a position she has held since 2021. She also represented Spotify as a founding council member of the Diem Association.

Commenting on the appointment, Boku Chair Richard Pennycook welcomed Alzetta to the board, noting her experience in payments and international growth would support the company as it continues expanding its network into new channels.
