Deals & Moves: Commonwealth Breakaway Kintra Adds LPL Team
Kintra Wealth, a Williamsport, Pa.-based team of breakaways from Commonwealth/LPL Financial that launched a registered investment advisor in April, has added another former Commonwealth team to its ranks with $355 million in client assets.
Great Scott Financial Services, a Bethlehem, Pa.-based firm led by Scott Seymour, has joined Kintra’s advisor-owned RIA, which now manages more than $4 billion in total client assets.
Seymour and his team of six, including senior financial planner L. Edward Price, had been with Commonwealth through its acquisition by LPL last year, according to BrokerCheck. They have moved to Kintra just ahead of LPL’s full conversion of Commonwealth advisors to its platform.
“Kintra stood out because it had built the kind of community I had been looking for—one where experienced advisors and specialized teams genuinely collaborate to help each other better serve clients,” Seymour said in a statement. “I’ll be surrounded by people I can learn from, lean on and collaborate with every day.”
Seymour, who joins Kintra as partner and senior wealth advisor, has nearly three decades of wealth management experience, including with Cetera and Walnut Street. He entered the industry in 1998, joining the advisory practice his father founded in Morristown, N.J., and later took over leadership of the business following his father’s retirement in 2010.
His team will now get access to Kintra services, including investments, operations, technology, compliance, marketing and client service.
Scott has “built a remarkable reputation by always putting clients first, and that’s exactly the type of advisor Kintra was built to support,” Kintra CEO Andy Harris said in a statement.
The new RIA has 75 employees working in various states in the United States.
Modern Wealth Expands California Footprint With 4thGEN Deal
Modern Wealth Management, an acquisitive RIA co-founded by former United Capital executives based in Kansas City, has acquired 4thGEN Wealth Management, a Lodi, Calif.-based advisory practice overseeing approximately $330 million in assets under management. The move bolsters Modern Wealth’s AUM to more than $16 billion in client assets.
4thGEN’s three advisors, Kenneth Levy, Corey N. Daniel and Dudley McGee, will join Modern Wealth alongside a senior client associate and business development specialist. The Lodi-based team has built its business around multigenerational client relationships, serving business owners, members of the agricultural community, high-net-worth families and investors approaching or in retirement.
“As we thought about succession, we weren’t looking for a way to step away,” Levy said in a statement. “Modern Wealth gives us that continuity while adding tax, estate, risk-management and other planning resources that can deepen the advice we provide.”
The deal further expands Modern Wealth’s California presence after its September acquisition of Auburn, Calif.-based Selby Wealth Management, a $290 million advisory practice serving the greater Sacramento area.
Modern Wealth launched in April 2023 with majority ownership by the private equity firm Crestview Partners.
AmeriFlex Group Recruits 17 Advisors, $1.4B in Assets in Q3
The AmeriFlex Group, an advisor-owned hybrid RIA based in Las Vegas, recruited 17 new advisors representing more than $1.4 billion in total client assets during the third quarter of 2026, the firm announced.
With the advisors expected to join before year-end, AmeriFlex said it anticipates finishing 2026 with more than $4.9 billion in new client assets, nearly $2 billion above its stated annual growth goal of $3 billion.
“Our success is directly connected to the value advisors see in having the resources and support to pursue their goals, whether they are focused on scaling their business, planning for succession or somewhere in between,” AmeriFlex founder and CEO Thomas Goodson said in a statement.
In August, Goodson told Wealth Management that the firm had developed an AI-driven program called Scout to identify advisors nearing retirement to approach about acquiring their practices or joining an advisor team in the AmeriFlex network. He said he expected the program, built with Anthropic’s Claude AI, to draw more than 100 advisors in about two years.
AmeriFlex also runs a succession platform called Succession Fully, designed to assist retiring advisors, and AmeriFlex Premier+, a wealth-planning service that helps high-net-worth clients with major financial moves and transitions.
AmeriFlex, as of January this year, is backed by a minority stake from independent broker/dealer Cambridge Investment Research, which is also its broker/dealer affiliate.
Raleigh-Based Sanctuary Team Leaves to Join Captrust
A Raleigh, N.C.-based wealth management team led by Clark Abbott and Robert Hartinger has joined Captrust Financial Advisors, bolstering the latter’s advisor base in its home state to more than 590 employees, according to an announcement.
RHA Wealth makes the move from RIA platform Sanctuary, according to BrokerCheck, where it had grown to manage more than $300 million in assets across 190 clients. Hartinger and Abbott founded RHA in 2021 after leaving Merrill Lynch, focusing on business owners, entrepreneurs, affluent families and individuals approaching retirement.
They will now move to Captrust’s headquarters in Raleigh with three other colleagues, according to the announcement.
“Joining Captrust expands what we can offer our clients while preserving the personal relationships that have defined our practice,” Hartinger said in a statement. “We’ll have access to broader capabilities and expertise while continuing to provide the highly personalized advice our clients have come to expect from our team.”
The team will adopt the Captrust brand, consistent with all of the RIAs acquisitions. Nationally, Captrust has more than 2,000 employees and over $1.3 trillion in assets under management and advisement.
It is backed by minority investors, The Carlyle Group and GTCR.
Freehold Wealth Leaves Stifel for Osaic With $576M in Assets
Freehold Wealth Management, a family-led firm headquartered in Landrum, S.C., has joined independent broker/dealer Osaic with about $576 million in client assets after previously affiliating with Stifel Independent Advisors.
The firm is led by President Cynthia “Cindy” Boyle, her husband, John Boyle, and Managing Partner Mary Steele, who is the Boyles’ daughter. Cindy Boyle and the team had been with Stifel for about five years after joining the IBD from Wells Fargo’s Financial Advisors Network. Through that team, she had grown the advisory to work with clients in Wisconsin, Michigan and North Carolina.
“Freehold Wealth Management has always been built around family, trusted relationships and helping clients plan thoughtfully for the future,” Cindy Boyle said in a statement. “Osaic offers the scale and depth of resources we were seeking while preserving the close-knit, entrepreneurial environment that is central to our culture.”
Freehold will also use Osaic’s asset management and research offering and its succession-planning resources, according to the announcement.
The win comes on the heels of Osaic noting on Tuesday that ICG next, a New Jersey-based wealth manager with $2.3 billion in client assets, had decided to leave LPL Financial to join Osaic.
Osaic, which is majority-owned by private equity firm Reverence Capital Partners, has more than 10,000 financial advisors in its network.
