GQG pares Rs 8,000 crore of Adani stakes in September quarter as FPI bets turn mixed

Mumbai: GQG Partners, a US-based investment firm, continued to pare its holdings in Adani Group companies in the September quarter, cutting stakes worth an estimated ₹8,000 crore across five group stocks. The selling came amid mixed trends in foreign portfolio investor (FPI) ownership, with overseas investors raising their stakes in some Adani companies even as they reduced exposure to others.

The firm, founded by Rajiv Jain and managing assets of more than $156 billion, attracted widespread attention in 2023 when it bought stakes in Adani Group companies amid a selloff following allegations by US short-seller Hindenburg Research.
