Quant Small Cap Fund exits ICICI Bank and 5 others, reduce stake in Zydus Wellness and 5 more in September
The monthly data further showed that the fund sold 42.65 lakh shares of ICICI Bank from its portfolio. Apart from ICICI Bank, the fund sold a maximum number of shares of Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals from its portfolio. The fund sold 33.76 lakh shares of this stock from its portfolio in the said period.
This was followed by selling 16.82 lakh shares of Sumitomo Chemical India, 7.58 lakh shares of SMS Pharmaceuticals, 4.35 lakh shares of Oswal Pumps, and 4 lakh shares of Heritage Foods.

The smallcap fund reduced its exposure in Zydus Wellness by selling 35,659 shares from its portfolio and had nearly 89.98 lakh shares in its portfolio in September compared to 90.33 lakh shares in August.
Among the five other stocks where the fund trimmed its stake, Welspun Corporation saw the largest reduction. The fund offloaded 8.17 lakh shares, bringing its holdings down to nearly 36.10 lakh in September from 44.28 lakh in the previous month.
It also cut its stake in Capacite Infraprojects by 1.32 lakh shares to 19.32 lakh in September and sold around 44,640 shares of Safari Industries (India) during the month.The exposure in Ethos was reduced by selling 10,923 shares from the portfolio, and 888 shares of Sula Vineyards were sold from the portfolio in the mentioned period.
Max Estates, EPL Ltd, Aequs, Heubach Colorants India, Moneyview and Prabha Energy were the new entrants in the portfolio in September. Among these six stocks, the fund added 1.56 crore shares of EPL Ltd, followed by the addition of 16.82 lakh shares of Heubach Colorants India and 12.41 lakh shares of Moneyview in the portfolio.
The fund added 8.75 lakh shares of Max Estates, 6.80 lakh shares of Aequs and 4.76 lakh shares of Prabha Energy in its portfolio.
Adani Power, Emami, Indegene, KPIT Technologies and Manappuram Finance were among the 10 stocks in which the fund increased its stake. It also added 47.94 lakh shares of Welspun Living during the period, taking its total holdings to 2.23 lakh shares.
Nearly 21.71 lakh shares of Adani Power were added in the portfolio, and the fund had 6.21 crore shares in its portfolio in September compared to 5.99 crore in the previous month. This smallcap fund added 18.70 lakh shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings, 16.29 lakh shares of Sonata Software, and 10.36 lakh shares of Emami to its portfolio.
It added 8.42 lakh shares of Manappuram Finance to its portfolio and had nearly 2.70 crore shares in its portfolio in September. Nearly 5.98 lakh shares of Indegene were added to the portfolio, followed by 5 lakh shares of Castrol India in the portfolio.
The other two stocks where the fund increased its stake were KPIT Technologies and Strides Pharma Science, as the fund added 3.07 lakh and 2.56 lakh shares, respectively, in the portfolio in September.
The exposure remained unchanged in nearly 82 stocks in September. In September, the fund had 104 stocks remaining unchanged compared to the previous month.
Launched on October 29, 1996, the fund had an AUM of Rs 35,572 crore as of September 2026 compared to an AUM of Rs 35,557 crore in August 2026. The performance is benchmarked against Nifty Smallcap250 TRI and is managed by Sandeep Tandon, Ankit Pande, Varun Pattani, Ayusha Kumbhat, Yug Tibrewal, Sameer Kate, and Sanjeev Sharma.
According to the monthly factsheet, the fund is for investors with a long-term investment horizon and a high risk appetite. The majority of the portfolio is invested in high-growth companies with attractive valuations and relative under-ownership.
The fund house further said that during September 2026, exposure to Capital Goods (+0.77%) and Media (+0.57%) was raised while Financial Services (-2.12%) and Telecom (-0.60%) were reduced.
The top 10 holdings constitute 35.99% of the portfolio and the top 20 and 30 holdings constitute 55.99% and 68.32% respectively of the portfolio.
