Aviva enhances death claims and trust process
Aviva has made changes to its service for protection advisers with the introduction of digital trust management capabilities and death claims notifications.
The changes are available through Aviva Connect and its Aviva Life Protection Solutions (ALPS) Tracking Service, and forms part of its aim to improve the adviser experience through better self-service and enhanced client support.
The Digital Manage Trust allows advisers to manage changes to existing protection policy trusts through a guided online journey.
This builds on Aviva’s Digital Add Trust functionality, and allows advisers to manage amendments to existing trusts, with legal deeds automatically generated and pre-populated using information entered online.
Advisers can add or remove trustees and beneficiaries, update beneficiary allocation percentages, record trustees or beneficiaries as deceased and instantly download legally required documentation ready for signature.
The function is available across most ALPS protection products, and incorporates built-in validation and guidance to improve accuracy.

Aviva said that by removing manual forms, the digital process would reduce delays and provide a smoother experience.
Aviva said the changes would help advisers to respond with greater awareness and sensitivity during difficult times for their clients and their families, by reducing communication gaps and avoiding inappropriate contact.
Daren Boys, protection portfolio distribution director at Aviva, said: “These latest enhancements reflect our continued commitment to delivering a more connected and intuitive adviser experience, helping them spend less time on administration and more time supporting their clients.
“The launch of Digital Manage Trust represents another important step in our journey towards end-to-end digital trust management, while our new Death Claims Notification service will provide advisers with valuable information to help them support clients with greater sensitivity and awareness.”
