- Two-thirds of consumers walk away from a payment process that requires more than three steps, according to “The Competition for Consumer Payments,” a report from Datos Insights sponsored by SBT, a payments platform specializing in regulated industries. Datos surveyed 2,000 U.S. consumers in the second quarter for the report.
- 934 Ltd., maker of the Juno point-of-sale system suite, will integrate Bluefin Payment Systems payment security technology, Bluefin said.
- Square, the acquiring arm of Block Inc., said restaurants Café Telegrama and Ètra, sister dining spots that share a kitchen, adopted Square’s point-of-sale suite, including hardware and software.
- Hospitality point-of-sale provider Mews said Accor Group’s premium, midscale, and economy hotels globally will adopt Mews for their food and beverage services. Accor operates 57 hotels in the United States under 16 brands. Globally, it has more than 5,800 hotels.
- Insurance payment specialist One Inc launched XpressOne, a service to make it easier for vendors and providers to access faster payments and simpler reconciliation services.
- Citibank says it is the first bank to go live in multiple markets on the international payments platform Swift. Citi’s Swift service, which relies on the bank’s global clearing network and its Worldlink Payment Services unit, lets Citi’s clients access a range of instant-payment services through a single account.
- American Express Co. launched its latest version of the AmEx Corporate Card program featuring the company’s new Corporate Cashback Cards and a new AmEx Expense mobile app.
- Technology platform Vera has partnered with card processor Zeta to launch the Vera World Mastercard, issued by Cottonwood Payments, a trade name for FinWise Bank. The card allows users to switch between rewards packages to suit their needs.
- Buy now, pay later specialist Zip Co released its “Inside the Wallet” report that found in the Jan. 1 to June 30 period consumer fuel spend was up 301% year-over-year and restaurant and food purchases increased 62% for the same period. Zip’s fiscal year ends June 30.
- Research and consulting firm TSG, formerly The Strawhecker Group, awarded best overall gateway API recognition to Adyen NV. Runners up were Global Payments Inc. and JPMorgan Chase’s Commerce Platform.
