EXCL: LaMelo Ball Lists $2.6M Charlotte Condo After Minnesota Timberwolves Trade

NBA star LaMelo Ball is making another major move following his departure from the Charlotte Hornets, putting his luxurious $2.6 million North Carolina residence on the market just months after being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 25-year-old point guard, who spent six seasons with the Hornets before joining Minnesota in July, is parting ways with his sprawling four-bedroom condo in one of Uptown Charlotte’s most exclusive residential buildings.

The residence occupies approximately 3,495 square feet inside The Trust, a boutique property that houses just seven private residences.

The home is currently listed for $2.6 million with Erika Mendoza of Coldwell Banker Realty, offering prospective buyers a chance to secure a spacious city residence with striking architectural details, luxurious amenities, and sweeping views of Charlotte’s skyline.

Situated in the heart of the city’s bustling Uptown neighborhood, the building has long been associated with prominent figures in Charlotte’s sports and business communities.

Unlike larger condominium developments, The Trust offers a more intimate residential environment, with its limited number of units providing an additional measure of privacy.

The building was originally constructed in 1967 before being transformed into an upscale residential destination.

Inside Ball’s former Charlotte residence, soaring ceilings and expansive windows create an open atmosphere, allowing natural light to flow throughout the home’s generously proportioned living spaces.

The interiors are distinguished by polished marble flooring featuring dramatic gold and gray veining, bringing a distinctive design element to the contemporary residence.

The four-bedroom property also boasts four full bathrooms and an additional half-bathroom, offering plenty of space for residents and visiting guests.

At the center of the home is a chef’s kitchen outfitted with contemporary cabinetry, premium stainless-steel appliances, and an oversized waterfall-style island.

The expansive island provides additional preparation space while serving as a focal point for the kitchen’s sleek design.

Wine storage and designer lighting complete the culinary space, which connects to the home’s larger entertaining areas.

Elsewhere, a custom bar creates a dedicated setting for hosting guests, complementing the residence’s spacious living and dining areas.

However, one of the property’s most distinctive features is its elaborate dressing room.

Designed to resemble a high-end fashion boutique, the space features floor-to-ceiling glass-front cabinetry, custom storage compartments, and elegant lighting.

The room offers an organized setting for displaying clothing, footwear, and accessories, with its glass-front storage giving the space the appearance of a private luxury showroom.

The residence also includes a private outdoor terrace, providing a secluded space to enjoy fresh air without leaving the property.

Residents of The Trust have access to an additional rooftop terrace, which overlooks Charlotte’s skyline and provides a larger outdoor gathering area.

The rooftop setting offers another option for entertaining, while the condo’s private terrace provides a more intimate alternative.

Two designated parking spaces are included in the building’s secured, residents-only garage.

The property also offers convenient access to some of Charlotte’s most recognizable destinations.

Situated along South Tryon Street, the residence is close to the city’s financial district, restaurants, cultural attractions, and entertainment venues.

Nearby destinations include Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers; Spectrum Center, where Ball previously played with the Hornets; and Truist Field, home of the Charlotte Knights.

The condo’s location places residents within reach of Charlotte’s professional sports venues while providing access to the restaurants and businesses that make up the Uptown neighborhood.

Ball first laid down roots in the property when he began renting the unit from former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, one of the city’s legendary NFL icons.

He later purchased the unit from the NFL star for $2.47 million in 2024 in an off-market deal.

Ball used an LLC to complete the deal, having purchased another unit on the floor below that property for $2.2 million the previous year. The basketball pro scored quite an impressive deal on this unit, which had been listed for $2.5 million.

Interestingly, Ball was drawn into a previous controversy with Newton after his manager, Jermaine Jackson, was ordered to vacate another unit in the building that the NFL player still owned, after he was accused of falling behind on more than $150,000 in rent.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Newton had agreed to continue leasing the property to Jackson, who moved to the North Carolina city with Ball when he was signed by the Hornets, even after selling his other condo to Ball.

However, Newton’s property management company claimed in court documents that Jackson ceased paying rent on the dwelling and owed 11 months in back rent by the time the case was heard in court. Jackson’s attorneys fired back at the claims, insisting that their client had been withholding rent because of a leak in the property that had not been fixed.

Judge April Mack ultimately ruled against Jackson and upheld an eviction filing, ordering that he vacate the property, arguing against his claims that the leak had made the unit uninhabitable. Jackson’s legal team has since vowed to appeal that decision.

For Ball, the listing comes amid a significant transition in his professional basketball career.

The California-born athlete entered the NBA in 2020 when the Charlotte Hornets selected him with the third overall pick in the draft.

He quickly established himself as one of the league’s promising young players, earning NBA Rookie of the Year honors in 2021. That same year, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

His early success continued in 2022, when he earned his first NBA All-Star selection. Ball went on to become one of Charlotte’s most recognizable players, building his professional career with the franchise before being traded to Minnesota during the 2026 offseason.

The Timberwolves officially announced his acquisition in July as part of a multiteam deal that also brought guard Josh Green to Minnesota.

The move paired Ball with fellow star Anthony Edwards, creating a new backcourt combination for the Western Conference franchise.

According to the NBA, Ball averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game during his final season in Charlotte, appearing in 72 games.

His move to Minnesota marked the end of a significant chapter in his career, with the point guard leaving the team that originally drafted him.

Now, the sale of his Charlotte residence could represent another step in that transition.

The property combines a sizable floor plan with the privacy of a seven-residence building, offering a different living experience from the larger luxury condominium towers found in major metropolitan areas.

Its combination of contemporary finishes, expansive entertaining spaces, and outdoor amenities also makes it a distinctive offering in Charlotte’s luxury residential market.

From the polished marble floors and chef’s kitchen to the boutique-style dressing room and rooftop skyline views, the residence offers a glimpse at the upscale lifestyle associated with one of the NBA’s prominent young stars.

With Ball beginning a new chapter in Minnesota, his former Charlotte home is now seeking a new owner willing to pay $2.6 million for a place inside one of the city’s most exclusive boutique buildings.
