LGSS rebrands to Westmarq
Formerly known as Legal & General Surveying Services (LGSS), Westmarq has launched as the new surveying brand in the UK.
The rebrand marks the next stage in the firm’s development as it continues to operate as a specialist surveying partner for lenders.
The business said lenders will continue to receive the same technical expertise and relationship-led service, while benefitting from enhanced tools and insights to inform valuation and risk assessment across the lending journey.
The rebrand is intended to reflect the firm’s evolving focus on providing property intelligence alongside surveying services, helping lenders access consistent information and select the most appropriate valuation approach for individual cases.
Richard Sexton, managing director of Westmarq, said: “Westmarq represents where we are going, rather than simply where we have been.
“We have a strong foundation of experienced surveyors, established lender relationships and deep technical expertise. We are doing is building on that foundation, combining it with better data, technology and a clear focus on the decisions our clients need to make.

“Property lending is changing. The volume and quality of data available to lenders is increasing, technology is becoming more sophisticated and the properties being assessed are not always straightforward. The answer is not to choose between technology and expertise. It is to use both intelligently.
“That is what Westmarq stands for. We want to help lenders make better decisions, faster, while retaining the professional judgement and quality that complex lending requires.”
