Newcastle BS cuts rates and adds trackers; Principality cuts PT rates – round-up
Newcastle Building Society has lowered mortgage rates by up to 25 basis points across selected residential mortgages.
The cuts have been applied to selected purchase, remortgage and product transfer options on deals up to 95% loan to value (LTV).
The mutual has also launched base rate tracker products. This includes a two-year tracker at 80% LTV, priced at 4.45% with a £999 fee, an option at 90% LTV with a rate of 4.65% and an option at 95% LTV with a rate of 4.99%.
Newcastle Building Society has also added an interest-only tracker at 85% LTV with a rate of 4.6% and a buy-to-let tracker at 80%, priced at 4.6%.

Principality BS cuts product transfer rates
Principality Building Society has reduced its product transfer mortgage rates, effective from 2 September.
Across its residential range, the two-year fixes at 65% LTV have been lowered by 0.2%, three-year fixes by 0.15% and five-year fixes by 0.1%.
The lender has lowered other residential rates by up to 0.15%, including deals at 75% and 85% LTV, shared ownership rates at 95% LTV and a three-year fix at 90% LTV.
The mutual has also lowered buy-to-let and holiday let rates at 60% and 75% LTV by up to 0.15%.
