Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2031 Launch Expands Target-Date Series

World Finance

Zerodha Fund House launched a new fund offer for Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2031. The launch extended its target-date series to a five-year maturity horizon. The product followed the earlier debut of Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2036 and Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2041. The scheme is built around the target year 2031.

The NFO opened on Thursday, August 27 and closes on September 10. The scheme invests across equity, debt, and commodities such as gold and silver. It uses a preset allocation plan that changes over time. The mix moves from higher-risk growth early on to lower-risk positioning near 2031.

With the 2031 option, the Zerodha Life Cycle Fund series now offers three maturity variants. These are 2031, 2036, and 2041, aligned to 5, 10, and 15 years. The newer fund adds a shorter holding horizon. The glide path remains rule-based across the series.

The available maturity options are shown below for quick comparison. The stated horizons match how the series is positioned for different timelines. Zerodha Fund House also said more maturity-year schemes are planned over time. The aim is to offer choices across different life stages and goal horizons.

Zerodha Life Cycle Fund Maturity year Horizon
Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2031 2031 5 years
Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2036 2036 10 years
Zerodha Life Cycle Fund 2041 2041 15 years

For equity exposure, the fund mainly tracks the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Index. For debt, it uses Indian government securities across different durations. “Investing well isn’t just about picking the right asset class but also about knowing how much to allocate where, staying invested through market ups and downs, and shifting gears as your goal draws near. The Zerodha Life Cycle Fund series handles this shift for you, so that investing stays simple,” stated Vishal Jain, CEO of Zerodha Fund House.

Vaibhav Jalan, CBO of Zerodha Fund House, linked the 2031 option to nearer-term goals. “A lot of financial goals might not sit ten or fifteen years away. A dream car purchase, a milestone birthday trip, a saving kitty for a loan downpayment – these are closer, and they need an allocation that reflects that shorter runway. The 2031 fund is built for exactly that kind of timeline.”
