The US stock market traded on a mixed note with a cautious bias on Monday, as the Dow Jones dropped under the 54,000 mark, while the Nasdaq Composite was trading in red to struggle around the 26,600 level. And the S&P 500 index traded volatile to flat.

The US stock futures traded on a mixed note on Monday, August 10, 2026. The Dow Jones futures dropped significantly as crude oil prices gained momentum, while the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 futures gained marginally. For the trading week from August 10th to August 14th, the outlook for the US stock market is moderately bullish despite US-Iran geopolitical risks still lingering and August being an entirely bearish month.

Last week, the Dow Jones and Nasdaq Composite skyrocketed at least 1,300 points in terms of weekly performance, while the S&P 500 index soared over 250 points. This is despite the US recording weaker-than-expected nonfarm payroll data of 23,000 in July and an unemployment rate of 4.1%.

This week, both macro and internal factors are in favor of bulls for Wall Street. However, overbuying could lead to consolidation in the S&P 500 in the trading week ahead. The US CPI and PPI will be major reports to watch out for next week. While corporate earnings will continue to give stock-specific actions.

Gold and silver are down, while crude oil prices gained by 1% to near $85 per barrel. The US dollar index floated around 99.6 after a sharp decline in the previous session.
