Goldman Sachs names record partner class with wealth in focus
Earlier in 2026, Goldman moved to reinforce Asset & Wealth Management at the most senior level. As Wealth Professional reported in January 2026, the firm elevated seven AWM leaders to its management committee, expanding that decision-making body to 46 members and tightening co-ordination across the wealth and private credit businesses. The latest partner class extends that signal deeper into the firm’s ranks.
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said those promoted have distinguished themselves through “their differentiated impact on our global franchise and ongoing focus on managing risk effectively.”
Wealth and private markets converge
Among the wealth-focused names in the 2026 class are professionals based across New York, Chicago, West Palm Beach, Dallas, Irvine, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Sydney – a geographic spread that reflects Goldman’s push to deepen its reach with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and select institutions, including foundations and endowments, well beyond its traditional northeastern base.
That global footprint has direct relevance for Canadian financial advisors and wealth managers who work with clients holding Goldman-managed products. Goldman Sachs Asset Management has worked as a sub-adviser to National Bank of Canada’s investment division since 2015, and the firm’s relationships now span major banks, independent wealth managers, and corporate pension plans in Canada.
The broader 109-person class – with 85 per cent in revenue-producing divisions across global banking and markets as well as asset and wealth management – reflects what Goldman’s leadership has described as a commitment to rewarding differentiated impact across the franchise. The cohort, once fully seated, will bring the total partnership to approximately 500 members firm-wide.
