BGC Co-CEO JP Aubin to Become Vice Chairman
BGC Group, Inc. said today that JP Aubin will step down as co-CEO and become Vice Chairman, effective close of business on 31 December 2026. The announcement was made on 3 November 2026.
John Abularrage and Sean Windeatt continue as co-CEOs, overseeing all regions and businesses. As Vice Chairman, Aubin will report to them and continue to support BGC’s growth and innovation, the release said. No new chief executive is named.
BGC is Nasdaq-listed (BGC) and describes itself as a global brokerage, marketplace, data and fintech company, headquartered in London and New York. It is an interdealer broker, meaning a firm that arranges trades between banks and other dealers rather than trading for itself.
Aubin joined BGC in 2005 and helped drive its European expansion, including ETC Pollak in 2005 and Aurel in 2006. In 2008 he moved to New York as Global Head for Listed Products. His broking career began at Viel-Tradition Group in 1990.
Aubin, in a statement carried in the release, described what the new role will involve:
I had the great privilege of working with Howard Lutnick for twenty years, and it has been an honor to serve as Co-CEO and lead BGC alongside John and Sean. After more than three decades in the industry, I now feel the time is right to assume the role of Vice Chairman of BGC, and feel equally privileged to do so. This role will allow me to add the most value to the Company, focusing on the markets and regions I know best, our clients, and our people, as well as helping the Company to innovate and develop new markets. The Company is in the strongest position in its history and in excellent hands. I look forward to supporting John and Sean in BGC’s continued growth.
JP Aubin, co-CEO, BGC Group, Inc.
The change moves Aubin into a senior role on a set date, and leaves the co-CEO structure under Abularrage and Windeatt otherwise as it was.
Brokers, banks and venues that deal with BGC should confirm who their day-to-day contact will be from January 2027.
