$20B Modera Wealth Management Launches Agentic AI Platform

Modera Wealth Management, a Westwood, N.J.-based registered investment advisor overseeing $20 billion in assets, has launched Mira, a proprietary agentic artificial intelligence-powered platform.

The RIA has been developing the technology for the last two years, investing in operational and tech leadership and working on data restructuring and data and AI governance. Mira is a unified platform that connects advisor workflows and systems, with an AI intelligence and orchestration layer on top.

OnTrade, an AI-native operating platform and data interface designed for wealth management firms, is powering the AI layer behind Mira. OnTrade’s digital agents will help advisors with planning, proposals and investment research. OnTrade was founded by former Pro.com executives.

The AI uses Modera’s data to generate business insights for the firm’s advisors, surface opportunities and evaluate scenarios.

“By bringing our data and workflows together in a governed environment, Mira can help our teams respond more quickly, work more effectively and deliver a more custom experience for clients,” Modera President Joe McCuine said in a statement. “Advisors will earn back hours from operational duties to be able to deepen relationships with clients and centers of influence, gain more referrals and attract additional assets from existing and new clients. We believe this integrated approach will also appeal to firms that have seen limited benefits from adopting individual AI tools without a broader enterprise strategy.”

McCuine, along with Modera’s tech team, led the effort to create the Mira platform, which has been available since July 2026. The firm said the Mira platform will support its acquisition strategy, as new advisors consolidate their data onto a common platform.

The RIA will create a working group that will review and validate data within the platform.

Modera is the latest RIA to introduce a proprietary, AI-native operating platform. Connecticut Wealth Management, an independent RIA with $5.2 billion in assets under management, recently hired Subatomic in a five-year partnership to build an AI operating system that will unify the firm’s data and deploy AI Co-Workers supervised by its human staff.

In July, Mercer Global Advisors, the Denver-headquartered RIA with $110 billion in assets, released Aspen 2.0, the second generation of its proprietary, unified operating system, which the firm has been developing for the past year and a half.

That same month, Mariner, the Overland Park, Kan.-based RIA with more than $630 billion in client assets, entered a five-year partnership with technology provider Humanity Labs to scale an artificial intelligence workforce representing more than 700 full-time equivalents across its operations.
