Banks are in for a long-week holiday. Precisely, a total of seven back-to-back holidays will be given to bank employees from October 19th to October 25th. Notably, bank holidays vary from city to city. Banks like SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank and Canara Bank, among others, will be closed for festivals like Durga Puja, Dussehra, Maha Navami and Maha Dashami, among others.

This is why banks are not closed entirely across India except for second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. From October 19th to October 25th, /Maha Dashami, banks are closed for three days in a row in cities like Gangtok, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram next week. While in Agartala, the holiday stretches for four days in a row.
