Oracle NetSuite announced NetSuite QuickStart, a free AI-driven finance solution built specifically for early-stage technology startups. The free offering is a cloud-based financial platform that users can access by logging directly into the web application, or by working through ChatGPT or Claude and services like Slack. The idea was to give people the flexibility to manage their finances in the environments where they already work.

“As a technology founder, I know from experience that building a company shouldn’t mean becoming a finance expert,” said Evan Goldberg, founder and executive vice president of Oracle NetSuite, in a statement. “QuickStart is designed to handle more of the routine financial work, surface what actually needs a founder’s judgment and provide a financial foundation that can grow with the business, making NetSuite the first and last business system they will ever need.”

QuickStart uses AI to automate routine financial work such as the importing, matching, categorizing and reconciling of transactions from connected bank and credit card accounts. The platform provides built-in financial metrics relevant to technology startups, including monthly recurring revenue, burn rate and runway. Startup founders can use Ask Oracle, built directly into the platform, to ask questions, analyze business data, surface insights and take action using trusted information.

“Most entrepreneurs are mission-focused,” said a NetSuite spokesperson in an email. “They didn’t start businesses to become finance experts. We’ve designed QuickStart to deliver value to founders from day one. They don’t have to be a financial expert to manage the finances of their business since AI can handle most of the routine work. Our approach is to automate more of the routine work while keeping founders informed and involved in decisions that require their judgment.”

Intended users include U.S.-based software and internet services companies, technology hardware and device businesses, and research, science and engineering companies. It is not available outside of this group, but the company does plan to expand availability over time. The spokesperson said NetSuite decided to focus on this sector because of its long experience working with companies such as tech startups, as well as rising demand as AI enables more entrepreneurship, especially from solo founders.

The company noted that, as startups grow, QuickStart provides an automated path to the wider NetSuite ecosystem, enabling them to expand and grow in complexity without disruption or starting over. However, while conceding it would certainly be nice for these users to continue using NetSuite as they develop, this was not the primary motivation for releasing this product.

“We certainly hope that as these startups grow, NetSuite will be a natural choice for them as their business needs become more complex,” said the spokesperson. “But the goal with QuickStart is to provide meaningful value from day one, without the cost or complexity that can put powerful business tools out of reach for early-stage companies. When they eventually reach a point where they need more advanced capabilities, NetSuite is there to support them. But our focus is on helping them succeed, wherever they are in their journey.”
