Christopher Reilly is swapping his seat at Brookfield Asset Management, where he has spent the last 14 years, for the role at Pretium, PERE News reported, citing multiple anonymous sources.

Brookfield declined to comment, while Pretium did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Reilly arrives at residential-focused Pretium as it launches its seventh U.S. opportunistic single-family rental fund.

In 2020, he was tapped to oversee Brookfield’s real estate solutions group when the firm created the department designed to focus on recapitalizations and secondaries.

Two years later, he spearheaded the launch of Brookfield’s first dedicated real estate secondaries fund, which closed in 2024 with $1.3B in commitments. Brookfield launched a follow-up vehicle in October 2025, this time targeting $2B in fundraising.

Prior to his tenure at the solutions group, Reilly was Brookfield Real Estate Funds’ head of originations. He’s now stepping in to fill the shoes of Josh Pristaw, who left Pretium to take up the mantle as Clarion Partners’ managing director and president last year.

New York-based Pretium has around $70B of assets under management, according to its website, and closed its sixth opportunistic single-family rental fund at $1.3B in 2024, according to PERE.

It manages roughly $32B in real estate equity and $6B in real estate debt, as well as a $29B residential mortgage platform, according to PERE.

Reilly isn’t the only recent departure from Brookfield’s real estate solutions group: Marcus Day, previously a managing director of U.S. and Asia-Pacific investment strategy, was announced this week as head of LaSalle Global Solutions at JLL subsidiary LaSalle Investment Management.

Alison Giampa will take over managing Brookfield Real Estate Solutions’ portfolio, while Kayley Laren will run U.S. investment strategy and Alexis Prevot will take on the APAC region in addition to Europe, PERE reports.

Pretium has made two other high-profile hires this year. In March, the firm hired Joel Sulkes as its managing director of insurance risk management, followed one month later by the hire of Graham Dorland as managing director of business development for capital raising, business and product development.
