Clearstream names Philippe Mueller digital products head
Clearstream, Deutsche Börse Group’s post-trade business, has appointed Philippe Mueller as Head of Digital Products and Transformation for Clearstream Fund Services, effective immediately. He succeeds Olivier Portenseigne, who the company says is pursuing a new opportunity outside the organisation.
According to Clearstream, Mueller will lead the strategic development and market adoption of its digital fund solutions; he will be responsible for the digital product agenda across digital fund distribution, distributed ledger technology (DLT)-enabled fund processing, transfer agency innovation and private markets automation. He will work with asset managers, distributors, custodians and wealth management firms.
Mueller has more than 25 years of experience across Clearstream and Deutsche Börse Group, covering fund operations, product management, market infrastructure and digital transformation. Since 2022 he has served as Executive Director and Head of Transformation Office & Digital, overseeing the integration of FundsDLT into Clearstream Fund Services. His previous roles include Head of Issuer CSD Services and Head of Investment Fund Operations & Client Onboarding; he has also been Chairman of the Board of Directors of LuxCSD and a Non-Executive Board Member of Origin Markets and the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association (LuxCMA).
Philippe Seyll, CEO of Clearstream Fund Services, said: “Philippe’s appointment reflects the strength of our succession planning and the depth of expertise within Clearstream. He combines extensive experience across fund services and market infrastructure with a deep understanding of our digital strategy, ensuring continuity and fresh perspectives.”
Mueller said: “The investment fund landscape is undergoing a structural shift as DLT, tokenization, and digital workflows unlock unprecedented opportunities for efficiency and distribution. Clearstream’s distinctive strength lies in bridging these emerging technologies with established, institutional-grade market infrastructure.”
