Doyle to lead Uinsure’s partnerships as chief trading officer

Uinsure has appointed Tom Doyle as its chief trading officer, with the responsibility of leading its insurer partnerships and trading strategy.

Doyle has 28 years of experience in general insurance and joins from Markerstudy Retail, where he was responsible for insurer capacity management and oversaw multiple personal lines portfolios.

He has also worked at AXA Commercial and Ageas Retail, which Uinsure said gave him a rounded view of the market and understanding of what drove sustainable and profitable growth, as well as the needs of distribution partners.

At Uinsure, Doyle will lead the trading strategy and be responsible for insurer and capacity relationships, product development and portfolio performance. He will work closely with Uinsure’s pricing, data and distribution teams.

Uinsure said the appointment came during a period of growth for the company, which is targeting £150m in gross written premium for the financial year. This year, it entered a partnership with NatWest Group, and by the end of 2026, it will have onboarded two of the largest banks in the UK. It also secured Lloyds Bank General Insurance to its panel, exclusive to Uinsure in the mortgage intermediary market.

Martin Schultheiss, group managing director at Uinsure, said: “Insurer partnerships are one of the three pillars our business is built on, alongside our technology and our distribution. Our distribution has driven much of our growth, with major banks, building societies and all major mortgage networks using our technology, which continues to evolve. Developments like our new Insurance Monitoring technology give our insurers more opportunities to compete for customers, so as our technology and distribution grow, our insurer partnerships need to grow with them.

“Bringing in the right people at the right time has been central to how we’ve scaled, and Tom has spent his career managing insurer relationships at an impressive scale. I’m delighted to welcome him to the business as we enter our next phase of growth.”

Doyle (pictured) added: “Uinsure has scaled significantly over the last few years, and the opportunity for our insurer partners has naturally grown with it. It’s an exciting time to be joining the business, with real scope to deepen our insurer partnerships, using our insight and data assets to create additional value, expand our competitive footprint with more confidence and grow our product suite to serve the evolving needs of our partners and their customers.”
