Lomond acquires second Liverpool agency in expansion drive
Lomond has acquired City Residential, its second purchase in Liverpool as the estate agency group continues its expansion in the northwest England market.
The acquisition follows Lomond’s earlier purchase of Homesure, which marked the group’s initial entry into Liverpool. Homesure will now manage the City Residential portfolio as Lomond consolidates its presence across the region.
Alan Bevan established City Residential in 2001, initially operating as a property development and consultancy firm before transitioning into residential sales and lettings. The agency has developed a presence in Liverpool city centre focused on residential property over the past 25 years.
Strategic positioning
The acquisition gives Lomond coverage across different segments of the Liverpool market, with City Residential strengthening its city centre position whilst Homesure provides reach across the wider Liverpool area.
The consolidation reflects broader shifts in the estate agency sector, where larger groups are expanding through acquisitions of established local operators.
Bevan said: “Over the past 25 years, our growth has been driven by our dedication to our clients and our deep knowledge of Liverpool City Centre. We are delighted to be passing the business on to Lomond – a company that shares our values, with the same commitment to client care, attention to detail and pride in what they do.”
Further expansion planned
David Alexander, Lomond’s chief revenue officer, confirmed the group intends to continue acquiring agencies. “We’re delighted to welcome City Residential into our growing network,” he said. “Their reputation and quality make them a perfect fit, with real synergy alongside Homesure’s strength outside the city centre.”
Alexander added: “We are continuing our expansion across Liverpool and beyond and we’re always looking for market leading agents who are eager to grow, innovate and be part of our ambitious plans.”
The acquisition adds to activity in the UK property sector, where agencies are adapting to changing market conditions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
