Kim Kardashian Reveals the Surprising Number of Nannies She Employs

Kim Kardashian is pulling back the curtain on what it takes to raise four children while juggling her sprawling business empire and life in the spotlight, revealing that she employs five nannies to help keep her busy household running.

The 45-year-old reality TV star and entrepreneur opened up about her parenting routine during a recent interview with the Sunday Times, admitting that she has one nanny working at a time, while four others rotate in and out.

Kardashian shares daughters North, 13, and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7, with her ex-husband, Kanye West.

Despite having plenty of help on hand, the Skims founder insisted that she remains heavily involved in her children’s everyday lives, from getting them to and from school to sitting down for dinner together.

“I am an intermediate-strict parent,” Kardashian explained. “I’m extremely patient and loving. I still have a kid sleep in my bed when they want. I read books with the kids every night.”

Her comments offer new insight into the family life that has traditionally centered around Kardashian’s sprawling Hidden Hills, CA, estate—a property that has undergone multiple transformations over the years and is currently in the midst of another major overhaul.

Kardashian and West purchased the property for $20 million in 2014 before undertaking an extensive renovation that transformed the estate into the stark, minimalist residence that later became synonymous with the former couple.

West famously described their vision for the property as a “futuristic Belgian monastery,” with the finished home boasting a strikingly neutral aesthetic that stood in stark contrast to the colorful lives of its famous residents.

After Kardashian and West ended their marriage, the reality TV star remained in the property with their four children, reportedly paying her former husband $23 million for his share of the estate.

While Kardashian and West paid $20 million for the home, her mother, Kris Jenner, claimed in 2018 that the property was worth an eye-watering $60 million following the work that had been done to it.

In more recent years, Kardashian has set about making even more changes to the estate. Images revealed that significant construction work was underway at the property, including what appeared to be the addition of a large new wing.

The scale of the work ultimately prompted Kardashian and her children to temporarily relocate to a rental home while renovations continued. Their absence from the estate became particularly notable in August when reports emerged of a suspected intruder at the property.

Law enforcement sources indicated that a suspect had forced entry onto the property, while Kardashian’s representatives offered a different account, telling TMZ that the individual never gained access to the home.

Her representatives also said none of Kardashian’s belongings were inside the residence at the time because of the ongoing renovation work.

While construction continues at the family’s longtime home base, Kardashian’s latest comments reveal that maintaining a routine remains an important part of her parenting style—even with five nannies helping behind the scenes.

The mom of four explained that she still handles some of the most ordinary parts of her children’s schedules herself, including taking them to school in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon.

She also makes a point of having dinner with her children and reading with them at night. Kardashian’s revelation about the number of nannies she employs comes as her children age—a reality she recently reflected on while looking back at photos from their younger years.

In September, the reality TV star shared a series of throwback family images on Instagram showing North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm when they were much younger.

“The days are long but the years are short,” Kardashian wrote alongside the nostalgic images.

The post prompted an emotional reaction from her famous family, with sister Khloé Kardashian commenting that she was “Sobbing,” while Kylie Jenner responded with an emotional emoji.

Kim Kardashian has also been making new memories with her children away from their Hidden Hills home.

Earlier this year, she shared photos from a family trip to Tokyo, where she and her children were joined by her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton.

Among the outings Kardashian documented was a visit to teamLab Planets with her sons, offering another glimpse into the time she spends with her children away from her demanding professional schedule.

Her latest admission about her household staff provides a rare look at the considerable support system helping her balance those family responsibilities with her many professional commitments.

Yet Kardashian’s comments also make clear that having five nannies doesn’t mean she has handed over the everyday elements of parenting entirely.

Instead, she says she remains involved in everything from the school run to bedtime reading—a routine that has continued even as the family temporarily lives away from the enormous Hidden Hills estate that has served as their primary home for years.

And when Kardashian and her children eventually return, they could be coming home to a dramatically different property.

The ongoing construction marks yet another evolution for an estate that Kardashian has spent years transforming, first alongside West and now on her own, as the home continues to change along with the family that has grown up inside it.
