Kestrel agrees to buy Irish wealth manager Kinsale Capital

Kestrel Capital has agreed to acquire Kinsale Capital, an Irish firm providing wealth management and investment advisory services to private clients.

The parties have not disclosed the financial terms of the deal, which remains subject to regulatory approval.

The acquisition forms part of Kestrel’s strategy to develop an independent wealth management platform in Ireland.

Kinsale was established by Gearoid Doyle in 2005 and is based in Dublin. The business is led by Doyle, Seán Ó Flannagáin and George Dargan.

Dargan will move to Kestrel to assist with the transition and maintain continuity for Kinsale’s clients.

Once the transaction is completed, Kestrel will manage more than €1.5bn ($1.2bn) in client assets.
