Vienna Stock Exchange Q3 2026: EUR 78.4bn Equity Turnover
The Vienna Stock Exchange recorded equity turnover of EUR 78.40 billion in the first nine months of 2026, up 48.1% on the same period in 2025; according to the exchange, this is the highest level since 2008. Wiener Börse AG also acquired an 80% majority stake in North Data GmbH, a search engine for official company data from 26 European countries, which the exchange says extends its data offering beyond stock exchange information.

Equity turnover for the comparable period stood at EUR 52.95 billion in 2025 and EUR 51.01 billion in 2024. BIOGENA Good Vibes AG became the fourth new listing of the year in September, following Emerald Horizon AG, FIT GROUP AG and K2G Holding AG in the first half. The market capitalisation of all domestic stocks listed in Vienna was EUR 223.31 billion as of 30 September; the ATX Total Return was up 32.60% year to date.
As of 5 October, 45 additional stocks from the S&P 500 and the online fashion retailer Shein are tradable on the exchange’s global market segment, which now comprises almost 1,100 international securities traded in euros. A total of 384 ETFs are tradable, around 15% more than a year earlier.
In debt listings, the exchange recorded 34,057 primary listings with an issue volume of EUR 237 billion since the start of the year, a 57% increase in the number of bond listings on the same period last year; 243 issuers from 35 countries were active in the third quarter.
“The high equity turnover and the ATX record level underline the current positive momentum on the Austrian stock market. At the same time, the trading business naturally remains dependent on market cycles and volatility. With the majority stake in North Data, we have taken a strategic step to further broaden our revenue base,” said Christoph Boschan, CEO of Wiener Börse AG.
Wiener Börse AG unites the Vienna and Prague stock exchanges and calculates indices for a dozen markets in the region, according to the company.
