Capricorn eyes £4.5bn lending as adviser numbers grow
Financial services group Capricorn has set its sights on facilitating £4.5bn in mortgage lending this year as it continues to invest in its growth.
The group now has more than 75 advisers, after recruiting over 25 since April.
To accommodate its growth, Capricorn also opened a new office at 66 Grosvenor Street in Mayfair, complementing its Hammersmith headquarters.
Some 14 employees are based in the Mayfair office, and Capricorn aims to increase this to around 20 over the coming weeks.
The group plans to reach its mortgage lending target through continued adviser recruitment, growth across its existing introducer relationships and forming new distribution partnerships.
Its services cover mortgage, insurance and wider property-based finance, with businesses operating under principal relationships with Sesame and Fiducia networks.

Capricorn said it saw opportunities to expand while maintaining a common Capricorn brand, management structure and partnerships.
Conor Murphy, CEO of the Capricorn group of companies, said: “2026 has been a year of significant growth and investment for Capricorn. We have added more than 25 advisers since April, taking us beyond 75 advisers across the group, opened our new Mayfair office and continued to invest in the infrastructure around our advisers and introducer partners.
“We expect to write £4.5bn of lending this year, but we still see considerable headroom from here. We continue to recruit, deepen our existing introducer relationships and develop new distribution opportunities.
“Importantly, this isn’t simply about being bigger. As we grow, our priority is to continue to deliver the high standards of advice and service our clients have always received. The objective is to give good advisers access to high-quality opportunities, strong introducer relationships and the support and technology they need to maintain those standards as we scale.”
The business will also focus on adviser productivity and generating more value from existing introducer relationships.
Murphy added: “We’ve built a substantial business, but we don’t regard Capricorn as fully mature. There is significant additional capacity within the distribution we already have, alongside the new relationships we’re developing.
“Our next phase is about combining scale with productivity, while continuing to deliver the quality of advice and service on which Capricorn has built its reputation: more high-quality advisers, stronger lead flow, deeper introducer relationships, better technology and a broader relationship with our existing clients.
“We’ve invested heavily in the platform during 2026. The opportunity now is to use that platform to take another significant step forward.”
Technology investment to complement adviser operations
Capricorn will continue to invest in technology to support advisers and clients, including the development of Smartr365.
The business said technology was being used to improve the oversight of opportunities, reduce administrative work and provide better management information.
Further, it will develop its dedicated protection process to serve both existing mortgage clients and new customers.
Capricorn said it believed human advice supported by technology would remain key to its growth.
Jeremy Law, chief commercial officer at the Capricorn group of companies, said: “The most encouraging aspect of our growth this year is that it has been broad-based. Adviser numbers have increased significantly, but we’ve also strengthened the infrastructure around them, supporting improved productivity while continuing to maintain the high standards our clients and introducer partners expect.
“Our principal relationships with Sesame and Fiducia give us a strong platform across the group, while we continue to invest in management, compliance, technology and adviser support.
“Smartr365 is an important part of that. We don’t see technology as a replacement for advisers; we see it as a way of making great advisers more productive. Used properly, it should remove friction, improve visibility and allow advisers to spend more of their time with clients and introducers.
“That combination of people, distribution and technology is central to how we intend to scale Capricorn from here.”
