XYPN Adds Income Lab as New Member Benefit for Advisors
XYPN, the popular network and business support platform for fee-only financial planners, announced access to retirement income planning provider Income Lab as a new member benefit and partner at its 12th annual conference, being held in San Diego.
“One of the most important things we do at XYPN is listen to our members and continually evolve our benefits based on what will help them deliver better advice and build stronger firms,” said Alan Moore, co-founder and CEO of XYPN.
The partnership addresses one of XYPN’s most requested member benefits, ranking in the network’s top 5 from advisors for three consecutive years and reaching the top position in 2026, he said.
While the vast majority of the network’s more than 2,300 members currently focus on clients that are still in the accumulation phase of their careers, Moore said that more than 300 XYPN members already use Income Lab.
The platform helps advisors with retirement income projections, tax-aware withdrawal strategies, Roth conversion planning, Social Security optimization, Medicare and IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount) planning, and other financial decisions.
Income Lab has won the XYPN AdviceTech Competition twice, earned a 9.0 advisor satisfaction rating in the 2023 and 2025 Kitces AdvisorTech studies, and was named the top-rated retirement distribution planning software in the T3 Software Survey in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
“We are continually expanding our capabilities to help advisors deliver more comprehensive, personalized recommendations across every stage of a client’s financial journey,” said Johnny Poulsen, co-founder and CEO of Income Lab, in a prepared statement.
To be sure, XYPN members have access to other decumulation providers, said David Bowman, managing director of partnerships at XYPN.
He said RightCapital was a membership option on the accumulation side of financial and retirement planning. For planning, both eMoney Advisor and Envestnet | MoneyGuide were available to members at discounts and had been for years.
“But Income Lab is the standout solution for retirement planning,” he said, and noted that for now the network was not exploring other partnerships with specialized decumulation tools.
“We curate our benefits to the best-in-class options to help members discern which tools are best for their practice, and Income Lab will be an included benefit option in the financial planning category for all members starting 9/29,” Bowman said.
Income Lab was co-founded by Poulsen and Justin Fitzpatrick in 2018 and introduced a beta version of its cloud-based software in early 2020, followed by its interactive visualization tool, Life Hub, in mid-2022 and a Retirement Stress Test tool in May 2023.
In October, the company announced a suite of AI tools, including its AI Plan Builder, AI Interviewer and AI Assistant, all meant to help advisors reduce the amount of tedious, manual processes involved in building retirement income plans.
