Richardson Wealth trades a century-old name for Nobelia
The name carries two references, Gallagher told The Globe and Mail.
The “Nobel” portion alludes to the firm’s noble purple colour scheme, and the “ia” connects the firm to the size and scale of its parent company.
Advisors were involved throughout the selection process and were eager to move ahead of a 30-month deadline, she told the same outlet, adding that the name was chosen to protect the firm’s culture and its high-touch, independent service model.
Resolving the naming uncertainty should improve external discussions as the firm continues to grow, Gallagher said.
iA Financial Corp. paid $597m for Richardson Wealth and agreed to change the name within 30 months of the deal’s October 31, 2025 close.
