Client net requirements nearly double in Q2 as ECC and HKSCC also set new highs


The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) reported $223.1 billion in required initial margin (IM) in the second quarter, the highest level on record going back to 2015.

IM at the central counterparty (CCP) rose 38.1% compared to three months earlier, the highest proportional increase since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. It also marked the largest absolute increase on record.
