Pollins becomes CFO at Magnet Capital
Magnet Capital has appointed Simon Pollins as its CFO as it builds its executive team for growth.
Pollins has worked in the property lending sector for over 30 years, including experience with residential mortgages, family offices, private equity, and short-term and specialist lending businesses. At Magnet Capital, he will oversee the lender’s finance operations, strategy and capital management, while supporting its co-founders Ashley Ilsen and Sam Howard with their plans.
Pollins (pictured) said: “I am truly excited to be joining the team at Magnet Capital, having joined at pivotal moments in many lending businesses, the reputation the team at Magnet currently have sets it apart. I’m looking forward to working with the team to help build upon the already strong foundations in place as they continue to grow the business and ambitions for the future.
“Whilst the market challenges [that] we currently face put pressure on the property development industry, the plans to further strengthen the offering in order to support intermediaries and clients shall be a key part in ensuring positive outcomes for all involved.”
Howard, CEO and co-founder, added: “Simon brings exactly the kind of experience we were looking for. He is hugely experienced as a finance director, but what really sets him apart is that he also understands lending from the inside, having held senior roles within finance businesses. That gives him a great combination of technical financial expertise and genuine commercial understanding.
“As Magnet continues to develop, having someone of Simon’s calibre and experience in the CFO role is a real asset. We’re delighted to have him on board and I’m looking forward to working with him as we take the business forward.”
