Robinhood Opens New Toronto Headquarters, Expands Canadian Workforce | LeapRate
Robinhood Markets has opened a new headquarters in downtown Toronto, marking a deeper commitment to the Canadian market following its acquisition of WonderFi and the launch of the Robinhood Canada app.
The new office has the capacity to nearly double the company’s Canadian workforce, which has already grown to more than 200 employees.
Johann Kerbrat, SVP and GM of Robinhood Crypto and International, called the opening “a milestone for Robinhood,” citing the talent available in Canada and the company’s aim to give Canadian investors access to global financial tools.
Vic Fedeli, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, also welcomed the expansion, noting it reflects the province’s efforts to attract international business.
Since its launch on July 1, Robinhood Canada has allowed users to trade more than 50 cryptocurrencies on one platform, with funding available through Interac e-Transfers or wires and trading in native CAD pairs to avoid foreign exchange markups.
The platform is currently offering a 0% trading fee promotion through September 30 and operates as a CIRO-registered investment dealer via CCML, providing regulatory protections comparable to traditional brokerages.
Chris Pollock, GM of Robinhood Canada, said the company remains focused on offering competitive products and transparent services as it grows.
Alongside the office launch, Robinhood announced a partnership with ABC Life Literacy Canada, supporting the development of new French and English financial literacy curricula aimed at helping adults improve budgeting and saving skills.
