After taking on new Cortex and AI roles, BNPP’s Razaq sets out the bank’s expansion plans and new tech projects

Since joining BNP Paribas in 2010, Asif Razaq has been inextricably linked with its series of reptilian-themed foreign exchange execution algorithms – Chameleon, Viper, Iguana and Rex. In 2026, he may be known for much more besides.
Razaq has assumed two critical new sets of responsibilities for BNPP this year. The first is as global head of strategy for Cortex – the bank’s single-dealer platform
