Piper Sandler Expands Into Europe With New Paris Equities Office | LeapRate
Piper Sandler Companies (NYSE: PIPR) said Thursday that it has launched equities trading in Europe with the opening of a new office in Paris.
The Paris office will be led by Ben Allen, head of sales and trading for Piper Sandler Europe. The firm has also made two strategic hires to support the expansion.
Louis Renaudie joins as senior equity sales, bringing institutional equities experience most recently gained at BNP Paribas, where he helped build the bank’s U.S. and international equities distribution business in Paris.
Louis Carpentier joins as senior equity sales trader, having previously worked in global equity trading at Edmond de Rothschild and, before that, helped develop Société Générale Private Banking France’s cross-asset order-flow business.
Deb Schoneman, president at Piper Sandler, said the move allows the firm to offer its U.S. equities franchise to European clients and represents a milestone in its global equities strategy, following regulatory approval to trade equities for clients in the region.
Through Piper Sandler Europe, the firm has secured regulatory approval in France for equities trading, along with passporting rights across Europe.
Its equity research platform is regularly ranked among the top 10 globally by coverage of U.S. equities, according to Thomson Reuters’ Starmine, and the firm was named the top small and mid-cap liquidity provider in the 2025 Extel U.S. Equity Trading Study.
The Paris launch follows last year’s opening of a Zurich office and brings the firm’s European sales and trading hires to eight in total.
