BSE tech glitch disrupts F&O trading on Sensex expiry day

Mumbai: The BSE faced technical issues on Thursday, with some traders reporting problems in executing orders in certain futures and options (F&O) contracts. The disruption, which came on the day of the weekly Sensex expiry, prompted traders to take to social media to flag issues with order execution.

BSE said in a post on X that it experienced a brief outage from 9.42 am, affecting one of the partitions in the cash segment and the securities mapped to it, while all other partitions operated normally. “The issue was resolved, and normal operations resumed at 10.08 am,” BSE said. Separately, several brokers reported disruptions on their platforms. Zerodha said on X at around 12.30 pm that there was an issue with price updates and order placement across brokers for F&O contracts on BSE.
