Citi, Goldman and Wells Fargo drive $74bn AFS securities surge

US global systemically important banks (G-Sibs) pushed their available-for-sale (AFS) securities holdings to a record high in the second quarter, as Citi, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo increased their portfolios by a combined $74 billion.
