StoneX Receives FMA Approval to Offer Milk Price Risk Management in New Zealand | LeapRate
StoneX Financial Pty Ltd (SFA), a subsidiary of StoneX Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SNEX), said it has been granted approval by New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority (FMA) to offer milk price risk management solutions to retail dairy farmers in the country.
The announcement on Tuesday was made in a joint release from the company’s Sydney and Auckland offices.
The licence allows StoneX to provide dairy farmers with tools designed to help manage exposure to milk price volatility and improve income certainty.
A particular focus of the initiative is expanding access to hedging solutions for sharemilkers, a group that has historically had limited access to such tools despite facing significant financial exposure within the dairy supply chain.
Liam Fenton, Global Head of Dairy & Food Group at StoneX, stated that the licence enables the company to bring risk management expertise directly to New Zealand producers, adding that the goal is to make these tools more accessible and practical for farmers. He also acknowledged the FMA’s handling of the application process.
Matt Manning, Vice President of Commodity Derivatives at StoneX, said the expanded offering aims to strengthen business resilience and support financial planning across the sector.
To support adoption, StoneX has built a digital platform, available on both mobile and desktop, intended to simplify the hedging process for farmers.
