Euroclear Completes 90% Acquisition of Inversis | LeapRate

Euroclear revealed Tuesday that it has completed the acquisition of a 90% stake in Inversis from Banca March, moving the Brussels-based financial market infrastructure group closer to full ownership of the Spanish firm.

The deal follows Euroclear’s initial 49% acquisition in March 2025 and marks another step in expanding its funds business.

The transaction strengthens Euroclear FundsPlace, the group’s funds distribution platform, and extends Euroclear’s footprint in Southern Europe.

It combines Inversis’ established local presence in funds and investment services with Euroclear’s broader infrastructure and international network.

Euroclear FundsPlace currently connects more than 3,000 distributors and 2,500 asset managers worldwide, providing access to around 250,000 funds and operating €4.6 trillion through what the company describes as a standardised and scalable infrastructure.

According to Euroclear, the fund distribution platform is expected to be the first area to reflect the benefits of the combination, as integration with the FundsPlace ecosystem develops.

Inversis is also set to gain from further investment in technology, operational resilience, cybersecurity and scalability. The company will continue operating as a separate entity within the Euroclear Group, retaining its existing services, client relationships and local market expertise.

Valérie Urbain, Chief Executive Officer of Euroclear, called the transaction an important milestone in executing the group’s funds strategy, adding that Inversis brings a strong local franchise and complementary capabilities.

Alberto del Cid, Chief Executive Officer of Inversis, said clients would continue to receive the same service model while gaining access over time to wider distribution opportunities and connectivity through Euroclear’s international funds network.
