SBI Holdings Takes Strategic Stake in Indonesia’s Ajaib Group | LeapRate

SBI Holdings, Inc. has announced a strategic investment in Ajaib Group, Indonesia’s leading online multi-asset investment platform, through one of its subsidiaries.

The Tokyo-based financial services group acquired a minority stake of approximately 20% in Ajaib Group, making the Jakarta-based company an equity-method affiliate of SBI Holdings. Ajaib Group began as an online securities brokerage and has since expanded into a broader investment and treasury platform covering both traditional and digital assets. The platform serves millions of retail investors, offering access to domestic and international equities, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, crypto assets, stablecoins, commodities and FX, along with payments and savings services. It also provides OTC stablecoin settlement services for corporate and institutional clients in Indonesia.

SBI Group operates crypto asset exchanges globally, including SBI VC Trade in Japan and Coinhako in Singapore, and runs a market-making business through B2C2 in the UK. The group has also pursued several digital asset initiatives, including an on-chain Japanese equity fund developed with DigiFT, a trust-type stablecoin called JPYSC issued with Startale Group, and Strium, an in-development blockchain designed for financial applications.

Yoshitaka Kitao, Representative Director, Chairman and President of SBI Holdings, said the partnership aligns with the company’s “SBI APAC Digital Economic Zone” concept, which aims to build digital financial infrastructure across the region.

Ajaib Group Co-Founder and CEO Anderson Sumarli said the partnership would help accelerate access to modern financial services across Southeast Asia, describing the region as home to “the next billion people” entering the world of digital and tokenized assets.
