HKEX to Launch SHEIN Options and Related Products Ahead of Listing Debut | LeapRate
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) announced Friday that it will expand its product offering to include Hong Kong-listed shares of SHEIN Global Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 625) once the company begins trading on 1 September 2026.
According to the exchange, SHEIN weekly and monthly options will be introduced on the listing date, contingent on SHEIN shares actually commencing trading that day. Details released by HKEX show contract sizes of 500 shares under the ticker SHN, with expiry months running from September through December 2026 and March, June, and September 2027. Weekly options are set to expire on 4 September and 11 September 2026. Further specifications are outlined in a circular issued alongside the announcement and in the products section of the HKEX website.
In addition to options, HKEX confirmed that issuers will be permitted to list derivative warrants linked to SHEIN shares from the same date, with warrant-specific terms to be disclosed in individual issuer announcements.
The exchange also said SHEIN shares will be added to its list of designated securities eligible for short selling starting 1 September 2026, again subject to the shares being listed that day.
The announcement gives traders and investors a broader set of tools to gain exposure to, or hedge against, SHEIN’s upcoming Hong Kong listing. HKEX said additional information on short selling mechanics is available through the services section of its website.
