Brandes Investment Partners Adopts Bloomberg’s Buy-Side Solutions for Investment Management Overhaul | LeapRate
Bloomberg announced Wednesday that Brandes Investment Partners has expanded its use of Bloomberg’s buy-side solutions to create a more integrated investment management workflow across its global equity business.
Brandes, a global value investing specialist founded in 1974 and based in San Diego, manages equity and fixed income assets for both institutional and individual investors. The firm is widely regarded as a pioneer in value investing.
As part of the update, Brandes implemented Bloomberg’s portfolio and order management tools, PORT Enterprise and AIM, together with Bloomberg’s Execution Management System, EMSX, to support electronic trading workflows. The firm also adopted Bloomberg Transaction Cost Analysis to assess trading costs and execution performance, and rolled out Bloomberg Indices tools across its fixed income operations.
Carlos Oliveira, Head of Trading Analytics and Market Structure at Brandes, said the integrated solutions allow the firm to combine order management, trading and risk analytics into a single workflow, which he said would improve operational efficiency and portfolio analytics capabilities.
The expanded relationship builds on Brandes’ earlier implementation of Bloomberg’s order management system integrated with EMSX, which supported execution management and access to liquidity. The addition of portfolio analytics and risk tools, along with transaction cost analysis, is intended to bring portfolio management, order execution and trading evaluation closer together.
Jose Ribas, Global Head of Buy-Side Enterprise Solutions at Bloomberg, said the partnership reflects Bloomberg’s aim to help asset managers scale their investment processes while improving decision-making through connected workflows and reliable data as their businesses grow.
