L&T wins ‘ultra-mega’ contract in West Asia worth over ₹15,000 crore
L&T classifies orders above ₹15,000 crore as ultra-mega. The engineering and construction conglomerate, however, didn’t disclose the value of the contract.
The contract has been awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore), a subsidiary of L&T. The company will undertake engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of gas compression plants for new onshore installations designed to process sour gas.

The project includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced-water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities. The facilities will be developed as per the client’s standards, codes and project requirements.
L&T’s power transmission and distribution business will also execute two 230-kV extra-high-voltage substations to meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants.
“The contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure,” said E S Sathyanarayanan, senior vice president and head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore.He said the project would draw on L&T’s experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and strengthen its capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour-gas applications.
LTEH Onshore provides turnkey solutions across the upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors. Its portfolio includes refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, fertiliser plants, LNG terminals and cross-country pipelines.
Shares of L&T closed nearly unchanged at ₹4,085.3 apiece on the BSE.
