Skanska secures $1.2bn contract to build four US data centers
Skanska has signed a USD 1.2 billion contract with an existing client to construct four new data centers in the southeastern United States.
The contract, valued at approximately SEK 11.2 billion, will be included in Skanska’s US order bookings for the third quarter of 2026, the company said.
The project comprises four data centers with a combined area of approximately 75,000 square meters (808,000 sq ft).
According to Skanska, its scope will include construction of the buildings’ shells and interior fit-out for technical spaces, support areas and office functions.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2028, Skanska said.
The company did not disclose the identity of the client or the specific location of the four data centers.
The contract adds to Skanska’s activity in the US data center sector, where demand for large-scale digital infrastructure continues to support new development.
