EU eases non-cleared margin rules for smaller players

New proposals aim to cut compliance and reporting requirements for phase five and six firms
European regulators are easing the compliance and reporting burden for smaller firms caught by the non-cleared margin rules.
The European Banking Authority (EBA), European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority and European Securities and Markets Authority earlier this month jointly proposed amendments to the existing rules that will exempt firms with less than €8 billion in derivatives
