Hope Capital ups committed funding with Shawbrook to £50m

Hope Capital Property Finance has increased its committed funding facility with Shawbrook Bank, deepening the relationship between the two lenders.

Hope Capital initially obtained a £15m facility in 2023, followed by further increases in 2024 and 2025, bringing the current total to £50m.

Hope Capital has broadened and diversified its funding, following the renewed committed senior funding line from Triple Point, which increased to £75m. The lender also entered a funding partnership with Hampshire Trust Bank, securing a £35m committed funding line in June.

The lender will use the combined facilities to support increasing borrowing demand and its long-term growth strategy.

This comes after Hope Capital reported a record-breaking financial period, with a 61% increase in its loan book, an 86% rise in applications, and a 46% increase in funding facilities. The lender’s pipeline also grew by 15%.

So far this year, Hope Capital has seen a 45% annual rise in enquiries and a 30% uplift in applications.

Warren Mutch, head of speciality and fund finance at Shawbrook, said: “Hope Capital Property Finance has delivered consistent and sustainable growth, underpinned by disciplined underwriting and a clear strategic direction. It’s been rewarding to support the business over several years as our partnership has evolved, and this latest increase reflects both the strength of the relationship and our confidence in the team as they continue to expand.”

Kate Cowan, chief financial and operating officer at Hope Capital Property Finance, added: “This enhanced facility strengthens our day-to-day operational capacity and ensures we are well positioned to manage increasing volumes while maintaining the standard of service we are known for. Our focus remains on scaling sustainably and continuing to build on the success we’ve had.”

Hope Capital now has £160m of committed funding across its funding partners, and the lender said it was now “well positioned” to scale its lending and expand its presence in the UK bridging finance market.

Jonathan Sealey, chief executive of Hope Capital Property Finance, said the continued support from Shawbrook Bank was a “significant endorsement” of its performance and long-term strategy.

“Alongside our recent funding milestones with Triple Point and Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB), this enhanced facility ensures we have the strength, flexibility and liquidity to continue supporting brokers and borrowers as demand for specialist bridging finance continues to grow,” he added.

“As we continue to expand, maintaining strong relationships with trusted funding partners remains central to our strategy and our ability to deliver market-leading service.”
