West One makes series of appointments to short-term bridging division

West One has expanded its short-term division sales team with the appointment of four new hires as the lender looks to build its bridging loan proposition.

The new appointments are Niamh Downey, head of internal sales, Lux Mathiy, telephone business development manager (BDM), Vijay Varu, business development executive covering East London and Essex, and Hanz Rameez, telephone business development executive for the North of England and Scotland.

Downey joins the business with extensive experience in specialist finance. She previously managed the internal sales team at Bluestone and brings significant leadership expertise to West One’s growing sales operation.

The appointments form part of West One’s continued investment in its short-term division, which has already completed more than £500m in bridging finance this year.

The expanded sales team will focus on supporting brokers in accessing West One’s bridging loan proposition, helping intermediaries secure specialist short-term funding solutions for a growing range of client needs.

Tom Cantor (pictured), co-head of short-term division at West One, said: “We’ve had a fantastic year so far, with more than half a billion pounds of bridging loan originations. Bringing in talented people like this is another step towards growth as we look to build the industry’s strongest sales team.”

Jez Quinn, head of short-term sales at West One, added: “I’m really pleased to welcome Niamh, Lux, Vijay and Hanz to the team. There’s a clear evolution happening within our sales team, which is scaling our capacity and ensuring that we can keep delivering fantastic results for brokers and clients alike.”
