Indian Stock Market Next Week, August 3-7, 2026: Sensex, Nifty Likely To Extend Rally; RBI Policy, Q1 Earnings to Set Tone
Indian equity markets ended the previous week on a strong note, with benchmark indices staging a sharp recovery after recent weakness. The Nifty 50 not only erased the losses recorded in the previous week but also surged more than 2.5%, registering its biggest weekly gain in nearly four months. The rebound was driven by renewed buying interest across sectors, improving technical indicators and optimism surrounding the ongoing corporate earnings season.

Market participants are now entering a crucial week that could determine the near-term direction of Indian equities. Global Factors to Drive Markets This Week
Global cues are likely to remain the primary drivers for Indian equities during the week ahead. Investors will keep a close watch on developments surrounding the ongoing US-Iran conflict, shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz and movements in crude oil prices, as any escalation could significantly impact global risk sentiment and inflation expectations.
Apart from geopolitical developments, traders will also monitor important US economic data releases. The movement of the US Dollar Index and US Treasury bond yields will remain key indicators for global capital flows and could influence foreign institutional investor (FII) activity in emerging markets, including India.
RBI Monetary Policy Decision on August 5 in Focus
Domestically, the biggest event of the week will be the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting outcome, scheduled for August 5, 2026. Investors will closely analyse the central bank’s interest rate decision, policy stance, inflation outlook and commentary on economic growth for clues regarding the future trajectory of monetary policy. Any surprise in the RBI’s guidance could influence banking stocks, bond yields and overall market sentiment.
Q1 Earnings Season to Remain a Major Market Trigger
The ongoing April-June quarter earnings season will continue to be another major catalyst for the markets. Several heavyweight companies, including Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Power Grid Corporation, Trent, Hindalco Industries, State Bank of India (SBI) and Titan Company, are scheduled to announce their Q1 FY27 financial results during the week.
Nifty Prediction for Next Week from 3-7 August 2026: Check Weekly Technical Outlook
According to market experts, the technical setup has improved considerably after last week’s rally.
“The Nifty 50 rebounded strongly on the weekly chart, gaining 2.59% after the previous week’s decline, indicating renewed buying interest and an improvement in the overall market structure. The index has reclaimed its 200-day EMA, while the RSI has strengthened to 59, reflecting improving momentum,” said Dr. Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer from Master Capital Services Ltd.
Technically, the Nifty continues to trade within a well-defined range, with the 24,500-24,600 zone emerging as the immediate resistance area. A decisive breakout above this range could open the door for further gains towards the 200-day moving average near 24,750, which will be the next major hurdle for the index.
“On the downside, 24,150 is the immediate support, while 24,000 and 23,800 remain the next important support levels,” said Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at Swastika Investmart Ltd.
Bank Nifty Weekly Outlook
Bank Nifty is expected to remain stock-specific, although its broader trend continues to stay constructive as long as key support levels remain intact. Analysts believe that sustaining above the crucial support zone keeps the buy-on-dips strategy valid. On the upside, the immediate resistance is placed at 57,800, and a decisive breakout above this level could trigger fresh buying momentum, potentially pushing the index towards the 58,500 mark.
At the same time, Bank Nifty continues to move within a sideways trading range with a slightly negative bias. “The 57,400 level is the immediate hurdle, and a sustained move above it could trigger an upmove towards 58,300 and 58,600. On the downside, 56,500 is the first support, followed by 56,000 and 55,555 as the next key support levels,” expert Gour added.
