RBC Draws $1.6B Dallas-Based Team from Stifel
RBC Wealth Management has lured a six-person team, KPM Wealth Advisory Group, from Stifel, Nicolaus & Company to its Dallas branch. The advisors had previously overseen $1.6 billion in client assets.
The team includes managing directors and financial advisors Donald Kinsey, Travis Moss and Matthew Pickett, along with senior financial associates Shawn Ezzo and Stephanie Mareth and client associate Jacob Gross.
The team had been with Stifel for 10 years, focusing on ultra-high-net-worth clients, particularly business owners who needed more complex financial management. Kinsey and Moss began their careers in credit and middle-market investment banking, while Pickett brings 43 years of industry experience, including at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, according to BrokerCheck.
The team cited RBC’s resources, credit and lending solutions and Echelon wealth management platform as factors in their decision to join the firm.
“The KPM Wealth Advisory Group has built their practice on serving UHNW clients at the highest level, and RBC has the balance sheet and expertise to support that growth,” Courtney Duphorne, Texas North complex director at RBC Wealth Management, said in a statement.
At the end of last year, RBC Wealth got new presidents when Tom Sagissor stepped down into a vice chair role and was replaced by East Divisional Director Pat Vaughan and Central Divisional Director Wally Chapman, who are co-leading the private client group.
RBC Wealth operates 196 offices across 43 states. It is also continuing to try and combat pushes by other brokerages and wirehouses for talent. Earlier this month, it lost a $1.7 billion team to Wells Fargo Advisors.
