JLL Associate Broker Stefanie Rock Dies in Water Mill Crash
Stefanie Rock, an associate broker at JLL specializing in New York City commercial office leasing, died Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle while jogging in Water Mill. She was 29.
The incident occurred Friday morning along Deerfield Road, north of Head of Pond Road, in Southampton Town, Newsday reported.
Rock was running north along Deerfield Road when she was hit by a southbound Toyota, according to the Southampton Town Police Department. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
The vehicle’s operator was transported to Southampton Hospital for evaluation and subsequently released.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Rock joined JLL’s New York office in April 2024 as an associate focused on commercial office space leasing and tenant representation. During her time at the firm, she worked on several notable Manhattan commercial lease deals. Those include representing tenant GlossGenius, a beauty-tech startup, in a full-floor lease of nearly 14,000 square feet lease at ZG Capital Partners’ 838 Broadway alongside a JLL team in 2024.
Last year, she was on a JLL team that represented investment firm JAB Holding Company in a nearly 12,000-square-foot office lease on the 11th floor of Rabina’s 88-story mixed-use tower in Midtown Manhattan.
Rock’s entry into New York commercial real estate began during her undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development in 2019. In the summer of 2018, she served as a marketing intern for Brookfield Property Partners in New York City.
Prior to joining JLL, Rock held sales, enterprise strategy and business development roles at digital and professional services firms. JLL representatives didn’t return requests for comment.
