Montana bank employee sentenced to 8 months in prison

Jordan Hennessy, a commercial relationship manager for First Interstate Bank, submitted a $100,000 loan application on March 11, 2022, under his father’s business, Stillwater Group, LLC.
Using his position, Hennessy negotiated a counteroffer with himself to issue a $50,000 line of credit. He opened a joint checking account with his father and then transferred the funds to his personal account before defaulting.
“This sentencing serves as a clear reminder that bank insiders who abuse their trusted positions to commit fraud will be held accountable by the FDIC OIG and our law enforcement partners,” said Special Agent in Charge Justin R. Bundy of the FDIC Office of Inspector General. —Traci Parks
