LPG Gas Cylinder New Rules From November 1, 2026: 12 Big Changes To Know In Indane Gas, HP Gas, Bharat Gas Before Booking

There are 12 major changes that LPG users should be aware during the booking or refilling of their Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas cylinders in November 2026 to avoid disruption to their festivity. These rules impact both LPG and PNG customers right from their prices, subsidy benefits, e-KYC, and refilling suspension to new connections. Since the West Asia war, the government has banned one family from holding two LPG connections and expedited the process of switching to PNGs.

1. 19 Kg Commercial LPG Prices Hike

The chance of a major hike in commercial LPG prices for the third consecutive month is high. As per the Oil Ministry explainer, commercial LPG is heavily used by hotels and businesses, and accordingly, the prices are revised automatically every month because the price is a direct pass-through of the international benchmark crude oil prices. The domestic LPG cylinders are not.

At present, US WTI crude oil and Brent crude oil stand near $102 per barrel and $115 per barrel. WTI has gained by 13% in 1 month, and Brent zoomed 17%.

Since the West Asia conflict began in late February, city-gas distribution companies have hiked PNG prices twice at a minimal rate. PNGs are naturally cheaper than LPG. An update regarding PNG prices from November 1, 2026, will be keenly watched.

Thus, multiple LPG connections in a household are now totally forbidden, as per HPCL’s circular on One Household, One Connection rule.

Hence, customers having more than one LPG connection in their homes are hereby advised to surrender multiple connections, if any, immediately. If you are left with only a single-cylinder connection after surrendering the other connection(s), an option will be available to you for converting the same into DBC (Double Bottle Connection).
