Floyd Mayweather Owes $300K to Baccarat Hotel Condo Owners

Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather has famously never lost a professional bout in the ring.

The same cannot be said for his fights in court.

A New York state court judge issued a default judgment against Mayweather, saying he owes nearly $340,000 in unpaid rent, along with late fees, interest, attorneys’ fees and related costs, to the owners of a condo at The Baccarat Hotel and Residences he rented in 2024.

Mayweather began renting from Miami-based entrepreneurs Leila and David Centner in December 2024 for $100,000 per month. The Centners had paid over $15 million for two units on the 18th- and 19th-floor at 20 West 53rd Street and combined them into a five-bed, five-bath duplex.

The couple sued Mayweather through an LLC after he stopped paying rent in the middle of last year. He owed as much as $500,000 in back rent and other damages, but Mayweather and the owners negotiated a settlement for him to repay the rent and other debts by Dec. 2, 2025.

Instead, Mayweather paid back just one of the months before ghosting the owners. He did the same in court, never appearing to respond to the complaint.

Pulse International Realty’s Rena Kliot, who relisted the unit for $150,000 after Mayweather left, said the owners became upset after Mayweather put up an Instagram post with stacks of money despite owing them hundreds of thousands of dollars. “They sent it to me and said, ‘well how about using some of that money to pay us,’” she previously told The Real Deal.

Last week, the owners sold the condo for $20 million, according to property records.

Mayweather appears to be bringing his current legal entanglements to a close. In September, he dropped a lawsuit claiming his former investment manager, Jona Rechnitz, whom Mayweather accused of gaining his trust before diverting $175 million.
